The Apache Local Community (ALC) program brings together local groups of Apache and open source enthusiasts — called ALC Chapters — in towns and cities around the world. Chapters host local events, spread awareness of the ASF and the Apache Way, and connect project users and developers in their region.
ALC is to the ASF what Google Developer Groups, Facebook Developer Circles, and Mozilla Reps are to those organizations: a grassroots, local, in-person complement to our global online communities.

- Hosts events for students, developers, and the local business community.
- Shares knowledge about the ASF, the Apache Way, and Apache projects.
- Brings project users and developers together, face to face.
